With the improvement of substation automation level, inspection robot will gradually re-place manual inspection and become a new method of detecting substation equipment. In this paper, a self seeking source and contactless wireless charging system is designed, which ensures that the robot can work in a long-term autonomy in the process of power equipment inspection and equipment fault diagno-sis. The system uses radio frequency identification ( RFID ) positioning combined with ICPT wireless charging technology. When the inspection robot judges that its power is insufficient, it can automatically return to the charging room for charging. The whole charging process does not need human intervention, and can quickly find the emitter and realize wireless charging in a very short period of time.
